Introduction
Before we went to Chongqing, we watched a lot of Youtube videos about its crazy architecture. We were particularly intrigued by this one, showing a walk on top of a Chongqing "Magic building".
Now the title of the video has been updated, but when we were looking for it we had no idea where it is - especially that in China Google Maps are not a reliable source of information.
Where is Kuixing Building in Chongqing?
- Address: Kuixing Building, Linjiangmen, Yuzhong District, Chongqing
- What3words Location: essential.gloves.tonic
- Nearest Metro: Linjiangmen Station (Line 2)
We were able to locate it by showing the video to the staff at our hotel, but it was quite a challenge. Once you know where it is, Kuixing Building is very easy to get to it.
To arrive at the rooftop you need to take line 2 (monorail) and get off at Linjiangmen station.
Now you know where to go - with the accuracy of 3m 😄 - so you will not get lost.
Since it is on metro line 2, a good idea to combine it with seeing the Liziba monorail stop of line 2, which goes through the building:

Nearby Attractions
- Liziba Monorail Station
- 1 stop away on Line 2
- Famous for train passing through building
- Perfect for combining visits
- Jiefangbei CBD
- 2 stops away on Line 2
- Major shopping and dining area
- Historic city centre
Here are some pictures of the plaza - from the pictures you really cannot tell that it is actually a rooftop! It makes it quite a surreal experience to walk to the edge and see that you are on the top of a building!
